Science Competition for High School Students

Vignana Rotary, a competition for the high school students of the district, will be held in December. It was launched last year by the Rotary Club of Mysore Brindavan here to bring best scientific talent together and encourage them to pursue careers in research.

The aim of the effort is to provide a platform for the students, it said.

A press release here said the competition which will be held on 21st December 2012, 22nd December, 2012 and 23rd December, 2012. “This interaction will enhance the scope and interest in the field of science and technology in young minds,” it added.

Application forms are available at Rotary Mysore Brindavan School. The application, along with a synopsis or write – up ( not exceeding 2 A – 4 size paper ), has to be submitted to the school by 17th November, 2012.

The write – ups will be sent to the experts in the subjects for evaluation. The 30 best exhibits, models and projects will be selected on the basis of the write – ups.

The results will be announced on 20th November, 2012. The 30 finalists will get a months’ time to prepare for the final event, Vignana Rotary.


The release said two new events have been introduced this year. Science quiz competition for the students of Classes 8, 9 and 10 will be held on 21st December, 2012.

Application forms are also available at the school and the filled – in applications must reach the school before 1st December, 2012.

A workshop too has been organised for 40 selected science teachers on 22nd December, 2012.
