GSI Test for IESO selections on January 23

The test for selecting those who will represent India at the fifth International Earth Science Olympiad in Italy next year will be held on 23rd January, 2011.

The GSI, which is conducting the objective – type test, will select 20 students to attend a training camp in Bangalore in May, of which four will be chosen to represent the country, according to a release.

The entrance test will be conducted at 59 centres across the country and is open for class X and XI students born between 15th September, 1993, and 15th September, 1996, who have not participated and won a prize in IESO earlier.

The Indian team won silver and three bronze medals at the fourth IESO at Yogyakarta, Indonesia this year.

Aneesh Pasricha of The Shri Ram School, Chennai, won the silver while the bronzes were bagged by Nikhil Suhas Deodhar, Shreyas Srivastava and S. Varun Rajagopal.
