Snag delays engineering online exams :
Engineering students from four colleges had to wait for almost the entire day to appear for their online exams on Wednesday.
The exams were scheduled from 9 am but started late due to technical snag. The exam for 50 marks was to be completed in one hour anytime between 9 am and 6 pm.
Till late in the afternoon, four colleges did not get the examination papers. Some students informed the students’ wing of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena about the issue and they approached the Pune university sub-centre and spoke to the concerned people there.
Yogesh Sonar, University of Pune office in charge of Nashik division, told TOI, “It was due to a technical problem that the examination papers could not be given on time. I spoke to the technical people in the university and they told us that it was a technical problem. They sorted it out after being informed and the examinations began late in the day. Usually, the examination papers are given to the colleges half an hour before the scheduled beginning of the examination. Every college is given an identity code and a link is provided to them.”
Adwait Vaidya, principal of V N Naik college, that was the last college to get the exam papers, told TOI that the students were given extra time to complete the paper as they had got the paper after 5 pm and the cut-off time was 6 pm.
“There are 14 engineering colleges in the district and each college has around 60 students. The delay was in four colleges only due to the technical problems,” he said.
