Sona Business School ties up with KMC
Sona School of Management – a part of the Sona College of Technology, Salem has firmed up a strategic alliance with Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure major KMC Constructions Ltd hoping to develop a long-term program of exchange of people, processes and ideas between the two organizations.
‘Sona-KMC Learning Centre’ is the prime venture of this alliance, said Dr Dhanapal, director, Sona School of Management. The centre was inaugurated on Monday at Salem and will be based at Yercaud.
According to Dhanapal, the institute was rated among 100 top B schools in the country by a popular Business Managzine’s B School survey in the year 2007. It was also given A grade’ by another leading magazine.
Sona has become known to the corporate world as provider of high quality management development programmes and consultancy programmes.
“The Sona-KMC Learning Centre is a venture aimed at strengthening ourselves as a corporate trainer. Usually B schools scout for industries to train their students. But this is the other way where a B School become a trainer,” said Dhanapal to this paper.
Even though the present day syllabus is enormously loaded compared to the professional courses in the olden days, industries find the students inadequately suited for their specific needs.
‘Learning to learn’ seems to be the new mantra, professor A Dhriajlal, secretary of the Sona Institutions said. The Sona-KMC Learning Centre, will hopefully help them do this, he added.
Vikram Redy, director, KMC recounted his own experience of being a misfit early in his career in spite of exposure to a world wide educational experience.
A lot of learning and relearning had to be done in the post education life, he said adding that the main objective of KMC to start the training centre in association with Sona was to improve the bottom line performance of its employees.
A total of 300 need-based courses is planned to be provided, he said. Mr Masthan, consultant, KMC Constructions Ltd wanted the centre to serve the socially week sector in future by delivering vocational training for the dropouts.
Application Form Submission 16 Dec 2020 to 16 Jan 2021.
