Coimbatore College Students among Winners of NSMG Award
The team from Sri Krishna Institute of Management, Coimbatore, has bagged the third place in the 14th National Student Management Games (NSMG) organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in collaboration with Fore School of Management, Delhi, in Coimbatore.
Over 1,100 students from 79 business schools participated in the games.
As many as 21 teams made to the semi-finals and nine to the finals held at GRG School of Management Studies.
The team from Master School of Management, Meerut, was the winner, while the team from Bankatlal Badruka College of Information and Technology, Hyderabad, bagged the second spot.
The team from Sri Krishna Institute of Management consisting of Aberami Jagannathan, S.R. Nandhini, R. Illakiya and N. Keerthana received a purse of 30,000.
The first team got 50,000 and the first runner up received 40,000.
According to Jitendra Das, Director, Fore School of Management, the games provided a realistic and enjoyable experience over a unique platform for students.
“The students were given an opportunity to learn by doing”.
Vikas Gupta, Deputy Director, AIMA, said the games were based on management simulation. It was an exercise that enabled the participants to manage a real business in a simulated environment.
They had to take strategic business decisions using AIMA’s indigenously developed software “Chanakya”.
