Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute comes up in Bantakal
Rathna Kumar, secretary of the Sode Vadiraj Math Education Trust, said on Tuesday that the Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management at Bantakal, near Shirva in Udupi district, will start functioning this year.
Mr. Kumar here that the institute had obtained the necessary permissions from the All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
Sixty seats each would be available in four engineering courses namely, Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science and Electronics and Communications (E&C). Even management seats are available at CET fees, he said.
The institute had requested the State Government to include its name in the third round of CET counselling. The institute’s building had come up on a 10-acre plot belonging to the trust at Bantakal.
It had the necessary facilities such as laboratory, library and canteen. The institute had appointed 14 faculty members so far, Mr. Kumar said.
Principal of the institute Ashok Kumar and vice-president of the trust P. Srinivas Tantri were present.
