International Seminar on Cyber Security, Networks

The CSE and MCA departments of SRK Institute of Technology is organising a two – day international conference on networks and cyber security – ICNCS 2012 – on 5th January, 2012 and 6th January, 2012, according to college chairman B.S. Appa Rao here on 3rd January, 2012.

In a release, Mr. Rao said that after the invention of computers, e – commerce and e-governance had become part and parcel of the mankind. “In this technical era, being unaware of e – technology is treated as illiteracy. Everyone is expected to learn about the computers,” he added.

He said the prolific use of information and communication technology ( ICT ) in all spheres of life has subsequently led to cyber crimes and security threats to the ICT infrastructures.

“It is essential for the researchers, academicians and IT experts from both institutions and corporate to do collaborative research with the financial support of the corporates and industries.

This conference provides an open discussion forum to disseminate and bring the latest contributions into limelight in the field of networks and cyber security,” he said.

In this conference as many as 20 peer reviewed selected papers out of 120 submissions will be presented by the researchers from various technical institutions, universities and corporate personnel. Mr. G. Bhulokam, Delivery Head of CMC Limited, Dr. B. Bruhadeswar, IIIT, Hyderabad, Dr. M. M. Manohar Pai and Dr. Chakravarthy Bhagavati, University if Hyderabad will attend the conference.

This conference is followed by a two – day ethical hacking and cyber forensics workshop by Virscent Technologies in association with Entrepreneur cell of IIT, Kharagpur, on 7th January, 2012 and 8th January, 2012. “This workshop is held to bring awareness among the students in the interrelated areas of cyber security and cyber forensics. The workshop covers practical demonstrations of security attacks, hacking techniques and the counter measures. The workshop also focuses on the new emerging areas as career option to the students”.

Campus Placement Drive at SRK Institute of Technology

There will be a campus placement drive by the Tech Mahindra, Alsech Technologies and Aviron companies for technical support executives on 3rd June, 2011 at the SRK Institute of Technology at Enikepadu, Vijayawada.

College secretary Boyapati Srinivasa Sri Krishna said that students from other colleges in city and surrounding areas are also welcome to participate in the interviews.

B.Tech CSE, ECE, EEE, and IT students and those of MCA and MBA can take part in the test.

There will be written test and interview and HR round in the campus drive. Interested students can contact 9573509762 for details.

Principal of KVSR Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical Sciences G. Devala Rao said that their students got national level ranks in the GPAT test held on 5th May, 2011 by the Baroda – based MS University.

T.K. Santosh Kumar got 91st rank in the test, which was held for admission into M.Pharm programmes. In all, 28 students got good ranks in the test

Siddhartha Academy president S.V. Vishnuvardhana Rao and secretary N. Venkateswarlu congratulated the successful students and also the college faculty for making good efforts.
