Old Students of St. Mary’s HSS to honour Toppers in Sports, Academics
M.S. Jaffer Sait, Inspector General of Police (Intelligence), has announced that the best budding sports talents and toppers in public exams of St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School here will get cash awards ranging from [rupee] 10,000 to [rupee] 25,000.
The 1977 batch of students of this school will foot the bill.
Addressing the centenary celebrations of the school on Saturday, he said that a rolling trophy would be given to this school on behalf of this batch.
“I belonged to the 1977 batch. If any team won the trophy thrice consecutively, the team could retain the trophy. We are ready to provide another trophy to the school for subsequent matches.
A sum of [rupee] 25,000 will be offered to students of this school who represented national-level teams and [rupee] 15,000 to state-level representatives of this school.”
Equal importance will be given to persons excelling in academics. Toppers of this school in plus two and SSLC exams would receive [rupee] 10,000 each, the IG declared.
Way to Success
Recalling his schooldays in Dindigul, Mr. Sait said, “those who withstand the pain alone will reach the pinnacles of fame and scale heights in their career.”
The school had conducted several tournaments and competitions to mark the centenary celebrations.
