St. Pious College organises Science Exhibition
The Department of Life Sciences, St. Pious Degree and PG College for Women organised a multidisciplinary open house, State-level inter-collegiate science exhibition ‘Innovations for Sustainable Future’ to foster environmental consciousness, cultural heritage, scientific temper and to scintillate the youth to enrich their realms for sustainable future.
OU Vice Chancellor T. Tirupathi Rao, who was the chief guest, stressed the importance of protection of the mother earth for sustainable future and emphasised the youth to develop interest in socio-economic sustainability.
A.V. Joseph, Additional Chief Conservator of Forests, reflected on the conservation of fauna and flora while A. Shankaran, Deputy Conservator of Forests, urged the youth to join hands in maintaining bio-diversity.
Various inter-collegiate competitions were held on the occasion that included posters, oral presentations and scientific writing.
More than 20 colleges from the twin cities participated in different events while 2,000 school children visited the exhibition. Mementoes and cash awards were given to the winners.
