To Study in Canada
With Canada relaxing its immigration procedures for students, more numbers of them are expected to pursue higher education there, according to Satish Shankar, Co-ordinator, Universal Immigration.
Canada is looking towards admitting more number of Indian students in its institutions.
This was not only to promote it as an education destination, but also to meet the want of manpower there.
“Students who have completed six months of study are eligible to obtain a part-time work permit and those who have completed a year are eligible to get a permanent residency.
This is an advantage that many of the other countries do not offer. Earlier, immigration process used to be very difficult and time consuming. But since last year, it has become easier,” Mr. Satish says.
His organisation, based in Canada and with branches in Coimbatore, Chennai, Jalandhar, and Cochin, is involved in felicitating the move of students as well as other eligible few who opt for resettlement.
Universal Immigration offers immigration services and Admission counselling to students free of cost.
It gives them the choice of institution and the courses and lets them decide what is best for them. It gives them the parameters for qualifying for admission.
It also assists them to land safely and find an appropriate place for stay (in case they do not choose to stay in the hostel) based on their financial status.
“Admissions for graduation and post-graduation courses for the September batch will take off in April-May.
Interested candidates can walk in at any of our centres with mark sheets to find out if they qualify for admission or not.
Once they are assured of this, they can go ahead with the admission procedures. Canadian institutions do not offer scholarships to Indian students,” Mr. Satish said.
