Tamil Nadu Agricultural Engineering (TNAU) professor awarded gold medal
Soil Conservation Society of India has awarded gold medal to K Ramaswamy, professor and head of the Department of Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Tamil Nadu Agricultural Engineering (TNAU), for his outstanding contribution in natural resources management and development.
Union Minister for Rural Development Dr Raghuvansh Prasad Singh presented the award to him during the international conference on ‘conservation of farming systems and watershed management in rainfed areas’ held in New Delhi from Feb 12 and 16. Ramaswamy is presently doing research on conservation of soil and water. The project is funded by the Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Science & Technology Technology and Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, a TNAU release said
