Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Professor awarded Gold Medal for Best Researcher
K. Ramaswamy, Professor and Head, Department of Soil and Water Conservation Engineering of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has been awarded a gold medal for his contribution in agro-hydraulic evaluation of micro watersheds, water harvesting and water development.
He received the award, instituted by the Soil Conservation Society of India, from Union Minister for Rural Development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh at the International Conference on Conservation and Watershed Management in rain-fed areas held in New Delhi.
Mr. Ramaswamy is also the recipient of Tamil Nadu State Environmental Management award.
He has won the best researcher award in water technology from TNAU.
He is working on various projects for conservation of soil and water funded by Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Science and Technology, and on precision farming, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Water Resources.
