TNAU students wons Erasmus Mundus Scholarship

Naveen Kumar, I year M. Sc. (Forestry) student of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has won the Erasmus Mundus scholarship to pursue a master’s degree programme.

According to R. Chandra Babu, Dean, School of Post-Graduate Studies, TNAU, the scholarship is offered by the European Commission to pursue dual master’s programme on “Sustainable Tropical Forestry” in the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

The fellowship is offered to academically outstanding students from non-European countries to pursue a master’s degree in a European country.

Besides this, Mr. Naveen Kumar will also pursue another full master’s programme in “Sustainable Forest Management” in another university.

The fellowship includes an annual grant of Euros 21,000 for two years starting from August 2008.

The fellowship is provided based on the statement of motivation, academic performance, bio-data and accomplishments in extra curricular activities.

Mr. Naveen Kumar will start his programme in August.
