Private Institute to coach ST Students

A private coaching institute in the State will be selected to impart training to students of Scheduled Tribes for admission to premier engineering educational institutions, such as Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology, N. Subramanian, Minister for Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare announced in the Assembly on 30th April, 2013.

Moving the demands for grants for his department, Mr Subramanian said that at present the number of Scheduled Tribe students getting admission in these premier educational institutions was less. The move was an attempt to overcome this problem.

A total of 50 tribal students would be selected and they would be imparted training in the identified coaching centre. The scheme would be implemented at a cost of [rupee] 1 crore, the Minister said.

Tn Polytechnic College Training Programme 2013

The Tamil Nadu Polytechnic College in the city plan to conduct a part – time training programme aimed at enriching employability skills among job seekers. The training module includes attitude development, confidence building, communication and interpersonal skills, spoken English improvement techniques, grooming and body language, resume preparation, interview skills and group discussion skills.

According to a press communiqué, candidates with a minimum qualification of Standard XII could participate in the six – day training programme offered in batches on first come first served basis. The medium of instruction is Tamil for the two – hour training. Interested candidates should enrol on payment of [rupee] 1,000 towards fee. Dr. V.S. Krishna Government Degree College conducts Free Training Program 2013

The Commissioner of Collegiate Education and Jawahar Knowledge Centre of Dr. V.S. Krishna Government Degree College will conduct selections to provide free training to unemployed youth under the ‘Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu’ programme on 10th April, 2013.

Selected candidates will be provided free training in Multimedia, AUTOCAD, Data Entry operator / Computer assistant, Finance and Accounting, Banking Correspondence and Pharma, according to Principal in charge K. Ravi Kumar and DRDA Project Director M. Maheswara Reddy.

Candidates who have passed their degree or degree dropouts, who are unemployed, are eligible for the training. Interested candidates can attend the selection process at Dr. V.S. Krishna Govt. Degree College at 9 a.m. on Wednesday along with two copies of their bio – data, two passport size photographs and copies of the degree marks list.

INSPIRIA 2013 Training Workshop

The Thiruvananthapuram chapter of JCI, an international organisation of young leaders and entrepreneurs and ADAMAS, a finishing school, are jointly organising a 15 – day training workshop – INSPIRIA 2013 – for students aged 11 to 17 years at Trivandrum Club here from 3rd April, 2013 to 19th April, 2013.

A press release said the programme is designed to help children become well – rounded personalities.

Beneficiaries Free Skill Development Training

Beneficiaries for undergoing free skill development training will be held at the Corporation Office on 22nd March, 2013 and 23rd March, 2013. About 2,000 beneficiaries from below the poverty line families in the city are to be provided the vocational training in 13 different skills including tailoring, nursing, IT, construction, computers, plumbing and welding. Candidates who have studied up to standard VIII and in the age group of 18 to 45 are eligible to undergo the training.
