Applications invited for Fulbright Fellowships 2012
The United States India Educational Foundation ( USIEF ) has invited applications from Indian citizens for fellowships to pursue study, research, teaching, and professional development in the United States.
Under various categories such as Fulbright – Nehru master’s fellowships for leadership development, doctoral and professional research fellowships, post doctoral research fellowships, senior research fellowships, visiting lecturer fellowships, environmental leadership program, international education administrators’ seminar and Hubert H. Humphrey fellowships, applications have been invited from competent individuals for the academic year 2013 – 2014.
The last date for receiving the application is 16th July, 2012, while the application deadline for Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program and Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program ( FLTA ) is 14th September, 2012.
As a move to create awareness among postgraduates, researchers, and professionals about the fellowship, programmes would be organised across the country in various universities.
During one such visit, Lalitha Nageshwari, administrative coordinator, USIEF, told the press people how the Fulbright fellowship programme had more than three- lakh participants spread over 155 countries creating a cultural and academic network in the world.
According to Ms.Nageshwari, the awareness programmes have been arranged keeping in view the unregistered parts of the country in terms of applications. Though the number of applications had increased tremendously in the last few years, she said certain parts of the country had not a single application forwarded for the programme.
More details on the fellowship programmes can be had at USIEF.org from which applications can be downloaded. Queries could also be forwarded to ip@USIEF.org.in.
