Canadian University woos Students
A total of 23 students were issued offer letters for admission into University Canada West (UCW), Canada, at an awareness program and spot admissions conducted by Global Tree in Vishakhapatanam on Wednesday.
Director for South Asia and Middle East of UCW Diwakar Gandhi and Director of Marketing, UCW, Deepak Gandhi, interacted with prospective students at the awareness program.
Over 30 students turned up for the spot interviews. The students were told about the university and about Canada and its culture, and the benefits of staying in that country. Students studying in Canada can work part-time during the course.
“This is the first time that representatives from a Canadian university have come to the city to conduct spot admissions. The advantage of joining UCW is that the students need not qualify in GMAT. A total of 16 courses (subjects) are covered during the 2-year MBA program. Students who have already studied some of the subjects in their undergraduate studies would be granted exemption in those subjects,” said Head (Operations) of Global Tree Subhakar Alapati.
He said that the Canadian Government was encouraging Indian students to take up Student Partnership Programs and to settle down in Canada.
Mr. Diwakar Gandhi said that UCW campuses were located in Vancouver and Victoria and the focus was on MBA program.
The university was also offering Under Graduate programs in B.Com and Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication. Quoting a recent UN study, he said that Vancouver and Melbourne were rated as the safest places in the world.
Mr. Subhakar said that the UCW representatives would be in India for a week.
Students from the city could approach the Global Tree Branch at Dwarakanagar and telephonic conversations would be arranged for the aspirants.
