VVIET students head for IIT, Bombay

Sixth semester Electrical and Electronics Communications students of the Mysore – based Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology ( VVIET ) have been selected to represent the college at the upcoming national – level International Robotics Workshop at IIT, Bombay.

The competition has been organised by Technophilia Systems ( India ) and the Robotics Academy of the U.S.

The zonal meet was held at VVIET recently. Of the 128 students who participated in the competition, which was held in five batches, the VVIET team comprising four sixth semester students was selected. “The winners at the national – level will represent the country in the U.S. The trip will be funded by Technophilia Systems,” a press release said.


Workshop on PLC & SCADA Systems held

A workshop on ‘Core industry – oriented automation – PLC and SCADA Systems’ was inaugurated at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mysore on 26th December, 2011.

The workshop had been organised by the institute’s Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with Automation and Control Systems, Pune, according to a release.

Resource person from ACS Manu, said the aim of the workshop was to enhance the skill set of students in the field of industrial automation.

Chandrashekar, Vice – Principal Shesha Prakash, Dean Sriram, Human Resources and Placement Officer Vidhya Munuswamy, Assistant Professor in the electrical and electronics engineering Kaveri K.B. and Lecturer ( E & E ) Sheela H. were Present, among others.
