Online Admissions for VHSE Courses

Admissions to the first year vocational higher secondary education ( VHSE ) courses will be taken online from this year, Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb said Thiruvananthapuram on 26th April, 2012.

He was speaking at a press conference called to announce the results of the SSLC examinations.

A student can buy the application form from any vocational higher secondary school in the State and can then submit it in any such school. The student can indicate his preference for any vocational school and course in Kerala, he said.

The application forms can be had from the website from 7th May, 2012. Help desks will function from this date at all schools to clarify doubts regarding the new system.

The last date for submitting application forms is 31st May, 2012. The trial allotment will be held on 6th June, 2012 and the first allotment on 14th June, 2012. The final allotment will be done on 29th June, 2012 and classes will begin on 2nd June, 2012, Mr. Rabb added.

Government agencies, including the Passport Office, NORKA and the Kerala Public Service Commission, will soon be able to verify online the school leaving certificates issued by the Pareeksha Bhavan. From this year, the government has authorised headmasters to correct the date of birth, caste and names of parents of children studying in their school, the Minister said.
