JEE ORISSA, Joint Entrance Examination, JEE 2005 Entrance Exam Details
A Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is conducted by the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela, or a college as notified for admission to the engineering courses at the following colleges:
A pass in the Inter (SC) exam of Orissa or an exam recognised as equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English in one attempt B.Sc. degree holders with Physics, Chemistry, Maths OR candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination OR Diploma holders in Engineering are also eligible. Candidates to be admitted in REC's / Colleges outside stae have to fulfill the eligibility requirements of the institution concerned. The Test is held usually in the month of May. Reservations for JEE Entrance Exam:15 per cent, ST - 7½ per cent, Engineering Diploma holders - 12½ per cent, Children of Greencard holders 5 per cent, PH-2 seats in each college, Defence and Paramilitary personnel (serving / retired / killed / disabled) 5 per cent. Candidates from other States / Uts in UCE Burla - 5 per cent. Sponsored Candidates for JEE Entrance Exam: Andaman and Nicobar -2 , Arunachal Pradesh - 2, Himachal Pradesh - 2, Manipur - 1, Meghalaya - 3 seats are reserved for Govt. of India nominees in UCE, Burla and IGIT, Sarang. Age Limit for JEE Entrance ExamCandidate should not be above 22 years of age July 1 of the year of admission (3 years relaxation in case of SC/St candidates). Selection Procedure for JEE Entrance Exam:Selection is made on the basis of merit in the Entrance Examination held in the 2nd week of May at various centres in the State. The entrance exam. comprises of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English. Application Procedure for JEE Entrance Exam:All information regarding admission to the Entrance Exam can be had from the Chairman, Admission Sub-Committee at the address specified in the advertisement issued in this behalf in January / February. Last Date for JEE Entrance Exam:Last date for submission of completed form is usually in the last week of April. Domicile Restrictions - JEE Entrance Exam:Candidates must have passed the qualifying exam for an institution in Orissa and must be permanent residents of the State.
