Sainik Schools in India

Sainik Schools are residential school governed by ministry of defence with a military bias. These schools are affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education and have a common curriculum, system of selection and examination.

The administration of Sainik School is vested in an autonomous body known as Sainik Schools Society. Sainik Schools Society is headed by the Board of Governors under the chairmanship of the Raksha Rajya Mantri. The Chief Ministers/ Education Minister of the state where the Sainik School are located are the member of the Board of Governors.
