Prime Minister’s New 15- Point Program for the welfare of Minorities Scheme of post-matric Scholarship for minorities
Government of India offers 75,000 scholarships in 2007-08 for post-matric courses for students belonging to the minority communities
Are you a student belonging to any of the minority communities notified under section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992, viz., Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhists or Parsi?
Are you pursuing any post-matric course ~ from class XI to Ph.D - including technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) at any Government or recognized private school/college/institution, including residential Government institutions
Have you obtained at least 50% marks in the previous final examination
If the annual income of your parents / guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.00 lacs (preference to students belonging to BPL families)
If so, you are eligible for award of a scholarship ranging from Rs.3000/- to Rs.10000/- per annum for admission & course/tuition fee and for maintenance allowance ranging from Rs.140/- to Rs.510 per month depending on the course being pursued and whether you are a days-scholar or a hosteller
If you are a girl student, 30% of scholarships are earmarked for you
Watch out for advertisement by your State Government / UT Administration and apply in the prescribed application format through the institution where you are studying.

The last date for receiving applications by States/UTs has been extended to 29 February, 2008
