NTPC Scholarships for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Diploma Engineering Students
NTPC - a premier public sector enterprise in power sector offers exclusive scholarships for SC/ST students pursuing full time Diploma in Engineering in a recognised institute.
Eligibility
Students should have successfully cleared their first year examination of full time diploma in Engineering Course in the disciplines of Electrical/ Electronic/ instrumentation/ Mechanical/ Civil and be relatively meritorious among the SC/ST candidates.
Should not be in receipt of any financial aid or assistance from any other source whatsoever.
Tenure
The scholarship is tenable from second year of diploma engineering course till completion of the diploma course.
The scholarship is payable for all the 12 months in a year.
Scholarship Amount
The amount of scholarship will be limited to Rs.1,000/- per month.
The continuance of scholarship once awarded is subject to satisfactory performance in each year annual examination and good conduct.

Employments NTPC
Subject to availability of vacancies, the candidate in receipt of NTPC Scholarship will have to appear for NTPC selection test and/or interview for the post of Diploma Trainees when called upon. If appointed as Diploma Trainee, candidate will be required to undergo one year training during which period they will be paid stipend as per rules and on successful completion of training they will be appointed in the appropriate supervisory cadre. Candidate will be required to serve the Corporation for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of appointment in the supervisory cadre.
Failure to appear for the NTPC selection test and/or interview and if selected to join as Trainee and thereafter serve NTPC for a period of 3 years will entail the candidate to refund the entire scholarship amount as well as training cost incurred on him.
How to Apply
Candidate fulfilling above requirements and willing to be considered for NTPC scholarship may submit his duly signed and typed application alongwith recent attested photograph and furnishing full particulars like Name, Father's Name, Address for Communication, Date of Birth, Category SC/ST, Qualification indicating interalia Name of Course, Institution, Branch of Study, Year of Passing, Percentage of Marks secured in Matriculation, pre-entrance qualifying examination and first year of Engineering.
Diploma Course alongwith copies of marksheets and caste certificate and on undertaking that he fulfills the eligibility conditions as laid down and is not in receipt of any financial aid or assistance from any other source and further that the information furnished by his is true and correct and if found false/incorrect, it will disqualify her/him from NTPC Scholarship and employment apart from refund of the amount.

Applications should be duly forwarded by Head of the Institution in which candidate is pursuing Engineering. Diploma. Each Institution can forward maximum of two applications.
