University Grants Commission - UGC Scholarships 2009 The University Grants Commission has invited applications for the award of the Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for the Single Girl Child. Applicants should be young women, each the only child of her parents, in the first year of a master's degree in non - professional courses in any recognised university or institute during 2009 - 10. Those pursuing distance education courses are ineligible. The two - year scholarship will amount to Rs. 2,000 a month. Nearly 1,200 scholarships will be given.
