JGLS recognizes the fact that affording quality higher education in law may not be easy for many prospective students. The School is therefore committed to selecting students for a substantial number of scholarships in various forms, both on merit and need basis. In 2009, JGLS awarded aid in the form of scholarships, studentships and assistantships to its students worth 1.5 crore. In the following year, this figure touched 2 crore.
O.P. Jindal Outstanding Merit Scholarship
Select students from the LL.B. programme, five-year B.A. LL.B. ( Hons. ) programme, and the two-year LL.M. programme will be awarded the O.P. Jindal Outstanding Merit Scholarship of 1 lakh each. This will be based solely on their performance in the LSAT – India admission test.
Naveen Jindal Young Global Scholarship
The aim of this scholarship is to encourage and support young global leaders. One student each from the three-year LL.B. programme, the five-year B.A.LL.B. ( Hons. ) programme, and the two-year LL.M. programme will be awarded this scholarship on the basis of an independent selection process. An award of 5 lakhs will be given to each student.
Shallu Jindal Outstanding Women Scholarships
The aim of this scholarship is to nurture and support outstanding women students from the five-year B.A. LL.B. ( Hons. ), LL.B. and from the two-year LL.M. programme. This scholarship of 2 lakhs to each recipient student will be awarded on the basis of an independent selection process.
Fee Concession :
Students who qualify under Haryana domicile category may be eligible for full or partial fee concession.
Savitri Jindal Studentships / Graduate Assistantships
In addition to the Naveen Jindal and Shallu Jindal Scholarships, Savitri Jindal Studentship or Graduate Assistantships are awarded to further reduce the financial burden of students. The aim of the studentship or graduate assistantship is to encourage students to help faculty during University-organized seminars, workshops and international conferences, as well as to help faculty in their research work, the University’s research centres, and in tutorial sessions as required.
JGLS often attracts law firms and corporate houses to donate programme based scholarships. For example, Khaitan and Co. offered a 100% tuition fee scholarship to the student who topped the LL.M. entrance test. Scholarships are given on the basis of LSAT ranking.
