Research Fellowship in Bristol University
The Faculty of Biomedical Sciences is pleased to offer a fully-funded ( UK / EU ) or partially-funded PhD ( Overseas ) scholarship to start in 2016/17, which is open to UK, EU and international applicants showing exceptional research potential in Bristol University.
This PhD Scholarship is funded by the University for 4 years and provides fees and stipends at the same level established by Research Council ( BBSRC, MRC ) studentships. The funding includes:
- UK / EU fee equivalent ( overseas applicants will need to provide the fee difference );
- full stipend at Research Council level ( £14,296 per year for 2016 /17 ) for eligible applicants;
- research costs to the Supervisor at the Research Council level appropriate to the discipline.
Bristol University Award Description
The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bristol has a number of postgraduate research scholarships for which we invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for. Candidates should have a minimum 2:1 in a subject relevant to the scholarship area. The scholarships are open to all nationalities and are renewable for up to three and a half years subject to satisfactory progress.
The Faculty comprises the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Engineering Mathematics, and Mechanical Engineering. Applications are invited in any of these disciplines.
These scholarships are extremely competitive so applicants will need to demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding research potential. Applicants whose first language is not English will also need to have the requisite language qualifications.

Once your completed application has been considered, short listed candidates will be contacted by the appropriate school to arrange an interview / discussion with your proposed supervisor. Schools will then rank candidates for consideration at the faculty level. Applicants shortlisted at the faculty level will be invited for a final interview during the week beginning April, 2017, and a decision will be made within a week.
