University of Buckingham Scholarship 2018
The University would like to encourage students – both undergraduates and postgraduates – to come to Buckingham regardless of their financial circumstances.The bursaries and scholarships we offer are awarded on merit and / or on financial need. You may only accept one University award.
Study Subject ( s ) : Scholarships at University of Buckingham are provided for postgraduate courses in the areas of Accounting, Business and Economics,Communication, Computer science, Education, English Literature, English Studies, French and Spanish, History and Art History, Law, London Based, Life science and Psychology, Medicine and Dentistry, Politics, Economics International Studies and Security, Intelligence and Diplomacy.

High achiever scholarships
An automatic scholarship, worth £2,000* per annum is available to undergraduate Home (UK/EU) students (excluding Medicine) achieving AAB or above (or equivalent) in their A Levels (excluding General Studies). The scholarship is dependent on you making Buckingham your firm UCAS choice, or making a firm acceptance of a direct offer of a place.
The scholarship will be reviewed after the preliminary and subsequent examinations and will continue if your average mark is in the upper second or first class range.
Postgraduate first class scholarship
A postgraduate scholarship is available to home and international students holding a First class Bachelor’s Honours degree that is recognised to UK standard. It will be automatically awarded to applicants of taught postgraduate degrees* who have achieved a first class bachelor’s degree or the equivalent level qualification from other countries. The scholarship will reduce tuition fees by 33%.
*Not available for the part-time MSc in Structured Innovation or Lean Enterprise.
Five counties scholarships
A scholarship, worth £2,000* per annum is available to undergraduate students (excluding foundation) from the following counties:
- Buckinghamshire (including Milton Keynes)
To qualify, you must meet the conditions of your offer and make Buckingham your firm UCAS choice, or make a firm acceptance of a direct offer of a place. You must be living in one of the five counties listed at the time you make your application. You are not eligible for this award if you hold another scholarship from the University.
Our Five Counties scholarships are only available to students on two-year courses. Students studying medicine will receive this for their first two years at Buckingham.
From September 2016, UK students (excluding Medicine) in receipt of a maintenance loan of £5,000 or more per annum will receive an automatic bursary of £1,100 per annum. We will confirm eligibility once our Student Fees Administrator has seen the Student Loan Company statement
Further funded scholarships and bursaries are awarded annually across all schools of study (excluding Medicine), and represent a partial remission from tuition fees. Awards range from £500 – £2,500 and will be conditional upon satisfactory progress at each stage of study. We are unable to offer any assistance towards living expenses (with the exception of the Coase Scholarships).
Funded scholarships are in recognition of academic achievement and applications are invited from those with a strong academic background and who are predicted to do well in their examinations. Bursaries are means-tested and are intended for those who need a contribution towards their fees in order to study at Buckingham. Please select Scholarship or Bursary on your application.

Entry requirements and procedure
All awards are subject to your meeting the University’s academic entry requirements and abiding by the University’s rules and regulations. To be eligible to apply for a scholarship you will need to have been offered a place to study at Buckingham. In the case of UCAS applications, if you are made an award you will need to select Buckingham as your firm acceptance choice.
These awards are made to new students only. Current students are not eligible to apply.
University of Buckingham Scholarship Application Form 2018
We will be considering January 2018 applicants from Monday 18th September, 2017. The deadline for submission is Friday 3rd November, 2017.
- Applicants should apply electronically.
- Anyone interested in applying for the Scholarship should already have the offer of a place at either Buckingham or Massey for postgraduate study, but cannot apply once they have commenced their Master’s degree.
- Completed applications should be sent to the : Director of External Affairs & Development, University of Buckingham, Hunter Street, Buckingham MK18 1EG, United Kingdom.
- Applications should include a covering checklist, an up – to – date Curriculum Vitae ( CV ), an academic reference and a letter stating their proposed programme of study, why they wish to undertake it and why they believe that they should be awarded the scholarship.
