Eligibility for University of Nottingham Scholarship 2013 :

  • Are a national of (or permanently domiciled in) one of the Latin American countries.
  • Are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes.
  • Are not currently studying at a University of Nottingham campus or are not a University of Nottingham graduate.
  • Already hold an offer to start a full-time masters degree program ( including MRes ) at Nottingham in September, 2013.

  • If successful Latin America masters scholarship students also gain any other Mexican funding, agency loan or scholarship, no additional tuition fee scholarship will be awarded by the University of Nottingham.

University of Nottingham Scholarship Description :

  • Dipeptidyl peptidase IV ( DPP – IV ) inhibitor is a novel glucose lowering agent increasingly used in the United Kingdom for the management of hyperglycaemia in patients with type 2 diabetes.
  • Evidence from clinical trials suggest that this class of drugs may offer advantage over other oral glucose lowering therapy due to reduced risks of hypoglycaemia and neutrality effect on patients body weight.
  •  Guidelines from the National Institute of Clinical Excellence ( NICE ) have recommended for DPP – IV inhibitor to be considered as a second or third line drug for patients with type 2 diabetes, particularly where there are concerns about patients risk of weight gain or hypoglycaemia.

The University of Nottingham offers Visiting Fellowships for Postdoctoral Students from Eight Partner Countries, UK2013.

Eligibility for University of Nottingham Scholarships :

  • In 2013 the scheme will be open to a total of 30 early-career University lecturers or post-doctoral researchers currently working at recognised universities ( as defined by The University of Nottingham ) in one of the partner countries listed above.
  • For the purposes of this scheme “early career” shall mean five years or less experience of working in academia on the day that the fellowship commences.
  • The scheme is not open to students or faculty with more than five years’ experience.

  • This is open foreight partner countries’ students.
  • These are Bangladesh, Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Libya, Mexico and Philippines.

University of Nottingham Scholarship Description :

  • The University of Nottingham’s International Office is pleased to announce the launch of the 2013 Visiting Fellowship Scheme, which will allow 30 researchers from eight partner countries the opportunity to complete a three month period of research in Nottingham.
  • Number of awards offered : 30
  • Tenure of award : Three month period of research
  • Value : The University of Nottingham will provide a stipend of £1,200 per month for three months. By means of comparison, the UK Government recommends that students studying in the UK should expect to spend £800 per month.
  • Accommodation will be booked on your behalf and this will be deducted from the total amount. It is expected that accommodation will be in the region of £500 per month, although this is yet to be confirmed.
  • Other Benefits : Additionally, The University of Nottingham will provide a contribution to fellows’ air fares. This will vary depending upon the country in which the fellow is based. The University will refund the cost of the flight up to the following maximum amounts : Bangladesh – £750, Brazil – £850, Ethiopia – £500, Indonesia – £850, Iraq – £550, Libya – £400, Mexico – £850,  Philippines – £900.
  • Receipts must be provided to receive the payment. Only economy class flights will be refunded. The stipend and the contribution to the flights will all be made in cash in Pounds Sterling upon arrival in Nottingham.
  • Notification : The University aims to notify all applicants whether they have been successful in December 2012.
