USEFP Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has announced the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) for Pakistan.

This program will provide Pakistani teachers from public schools with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge of the United States.

This program is being offered in the following fields :

  • English as a Foreign Language (EFL)
  • Social Studies/Civics/History,
  • Mathematics, and
  • Science

Eligibility Criteria for USEFP Scholarships

  • Public school teachers of grades 8 to 10
  • Minimum of five years classroom teaching experience in English as a Foreign Language, Social Studies / Civics / History, Mathematics, and / or Science
  • Pakistani citizens and resident in Pakistan
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Plan to continue teaching for at least five years after completion of the program
  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree

Ineligible for USEFP Scholarships

  • Applicants with a dual U.S./Pakistani nationality
  • Those who have a parent spouse, fiancé or child over 18 years of age, who is a United States citizen or permanent United States resident
  • Employees of the Fulbright Organization or the U.S. Department of State Alumni of other USEFP programs
  • People who have applied for immigration to another country

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan has announced the 2011-12 Undergraduate Exchange Program for Pakistan.

The Undergraduate Exchange Program is intended to promote mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria for USEFP Scholarships

  • Pakistani citizens
  • 25 years or younger
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university and committed to returning to their home universities following the completion of the program
  • Strong leadership qualities and potential in their university and community activities
  • Serious interest in learning about the United States
  • High level of academic achievement, as indicated in grades, awards and teacher recommendations
  • Proficiency in English
  • Students from diverse backgrounds, especially those students who have not previously had opportunities to travel internationally are encouraged to apply

Ineligibility for USEFP Scholarships

  • Applicants with a dual United States / Pakistani nationality or United States permanent residence
  • Those who have a parent, spouse or fiancé who is a United States citizen or permanent United States resident
  • Employees of the Fulbright Organization or the U.S. Department of State People who have applied for immigration to any country
  • Students in their final year of university
