Entry requirements

Victoria University ( VU ) can offer you a place as an international student in a course if you meet the academic requirements, English language requirements and in some cases additional ( or supplementary ) entry requirements.

Submit an international application

To apply as an international student ( non-resident ) at Victoria University ( VU ), register your details on the International application and enquiry system. Once you have registered follow the steps to submit your international application online.

Accept your offer to study

Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment ( eCoE )

We will provide you with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment ( eCoE ) by email as proof that you have enrolled in a course. When you have your eCoE, you can apply for or renew your student visa.

Visa applications

You need a visa to study in Australia. The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship ( DIAC ) is responsible for visas. A student visa is not granted automatically.

Organize health cover

As a condition of your visa, you will need to arrange health insurance for the duration of your study. Overseas Student Health Cover ( provided by Allianz Global Assistance ), the preferred provider for VU has a representative on campus and they can help you with :

  • claims
  • extending your cover
  • understanding costs and premiums

Many of our facilities are open to students and the wider public. Services include health clinics such as osteopathy, massage and nutrition. In addition we have facilities that offer beauty and dermal treatments. Our conference centres and other rooms that can be booked for your next function.

Victoria University ( VU ) owns and operates several residences to accommodate students, staff and guests of the University.

If you have never lived out of home, or wish to live in a university environment, choosing to live in one of our student residences may be a great option for you.

Bookshops

We have bookshops at most of our campuses, externally run by the Co-op Bookshop.

The Co-op offers textbooks, general books, quality art materials, general stationery, cards, gifts, technology and much more.

Chaplaincy

We invite you to be part of the Chaplaincy services at VU. At Chaplaincy we are pleased to meet people from every faith or no faith.

You are welcome to visit the Chaplain at VU to share any news, views, stories, concerns or discuss other personal issues. The Chaplain offers spiritual and emotional support, listens with a caring heart and a compassionate spirit, irrespective of your faith/belief affiliation or background.

Clinics : Health & personal services

Our range of health and well-being clinics provide you with the services you need to help you look and feel good while improving your performance in sport, work and every day life.

The clinics are open to students, staff and members of the public.

Children’s centres

Our four Children’s Centres provide full-time and daily care for children from three months to six years of age. We also offer a four year olds kindergarten program.

Safety & security

Stay safe in Melbourne and reduce risk to your personal safety. Everyone at VU is responsible for ensuring a safe campus environment and should know what to do in an emergency.

Counselling services provides assistance for staff when dealing with a student in crisis.

Transport & parking

Parking at Footscray Nicholson campus

Limited car parking is available at most of our campuses. We also have bicycle parking at all of our campuses and bicycle hubs at Footscray Nicholson and Footscray Park campus. There is a carpooling program available so you can share a ride with fellow students.
