CEU Business School was founded in Budapest in 1988 by a group of visionary leaders headed by legendary investor and philanthropist George Soros.
CEU Business School was the first educational institution in the Central Eastern Europe region to train managers by offering a western graduate business program leading to an American MBA. Since its inception, the school has pursued the goal of developing standards in line with Western institutions, while ensuring timely and relevant consideration of the changes within the region’s transforming economies.
CEU Business School’s faculty and students are truly international, with the 2010 MBA class comprising of 35 people from 21 nations on 5 continents and not a single dominant nationality. Across all CEU programs, people from more than 100 nations are present on campus.
CEU Business School’s MBA programs are accredited by the Association of MBAs ( AMBA ), one of the three internationally recognized MBA / Business School accrediting agencies.

CEU Business School Faculty
CEU Business School’s faculty is nearly as diverse as its student body. Currently, CEU host lecturers from 11 countries on 3 continents. Reflecting CEU Business School’s dual commitment to both excellent academic research and practically relevant management education, Business faculty consists of both academicians involved in leading edge research and practitioners with many years of in depth industry experience, most of whom are adjunct lecturers who are out in the field every day and are thus able to bring the latest developments in business into the classroom.
CEU Business School Programs
CEU Business School currently offers three US accredited graduate management degree programs : two leading to an MBA ( full time or part time studies ) and one to an International Executive MBA.
The one year Full time MBA Program commences each year in September, bringing together students from more than 20 countries for an intensive 11 month management education program. With our Transnational MBA curriculum you will receive a broader understanding of the importance of social, political, ethical and environmental changes in a transnational context in addition to a truly integrative learning experience based on leading global business education approaches. This program is meant for managers who see themselves as change leaders in rapidly transforming environments and combines functional excellence ( in the core program ) with opportunities to concentrate on Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance or Real Estate Management.
The part time Executive MBA program, with the same rigorous curriculum and the same high quality American degree as the full time program can be earned on the weekends, with no career interruption. The Executive MBA starts in February each year, with classes running intensively from Friday afternoon to Sunday noon, roughly every second weekend.
The International Master’s in Management ( IMM ) program has been ranked #1 in “International Course Experience” and #2 in “Career Advancement” worldwide by the Financial Times 2010 EMBA ranking.
The Master of Science ( MSc ) in Information Technology Management is unique in the region. It is designed mainly for managers or prospective managers with a technical background who need to develop the business, finance and leadership skills for advancement or entrepreneurship.
The program is an interactive, hands on education delivered by industry experts as well as academic faculty. As a part time program meeting on alternate weekends, it allows students to develop their careers without interrupting them.
CEU Business School also offers a variety of Executive Education Programs for both organizations and individuals. CEU portfolio consists of specialized short courses and trainings, modular talent management programs and mini MBAs, masterclasses and conferences.
CEU International Study Tours Program brings groups of Business students from leading Schools worldwide to Central Eastern Europe for an intense one or two week training in the region’s business environment, accompanied by a cultural program.
