National Law School of India University Bangalore :

National Law School of India University, Bangalore is the first Indian Law University established by a statute passed by Karnataka Legislature in 1986. It became functional in 1988. It is the only Law School sponsored by the Bar Council of India with a view to raising the standard of legal education in India. Leading lawyers, judges and academicians have been associating with the Law School from the very beginning and in this way; the NLSIU represents the unique partnership among the Bar, the Bench and the Academia.

The National Law School of India University is located in Nagarbhavi, approximately 10 kms from the Bangalore City railway station. The Law School is spread over an 18 acre campus at the entrance to the Jnana Bharati Campus from the Nagarbhavi end.

The University is fully residential, with complete residential facilities for students and staff. The campus had its first building in 1992 and today it has a main academic block, a distance education block, three Halls of Residence each for men and women, one post – graduate women’s hostel, staff quarters and a well equipped training centre with residential facilities for participants participating in the training programs.

National Law School of India University Bangalore Placement :

During the first and second years, the placement is optional and will be with NGOs. During the third year placement with trial lawyers, during the fourth year with appellate lawyers and during the final year with law firms and others is compulsory.
