School of Legal Studies, Kochi is a constituent of Cochin University of Science and Technology. It came into existence in 1962 as a department of Kerala University, later it joined hands with University of Cochin. The institution aims to impart in – depth knowledge through moot – court room sessions, guest lectures and debate and discussions on various issues.

School of Legal Studies, approved by Bar Council of India ( BCI ), New Delhi, offers legal education at under graduate as well as at post graduate levels. Over the years, the law college has produced numerous well – qualified and trained law professionals. The institution is considered as one of the prominent places to study law in the state.

School of Legal Studies Cochin Courses :

1. Master of Laws

LLM stands for Masters of Law. It is a 2 year course. The minimum eligibility is Bachelor degree preferably in Law. The course covers subjects like Law and Social Transformation in India, Indian Constitutional Law – The New Challenges, Judicial Process, Research Methodology, Dissertation etc.

Basic Eligibility : Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university

2. B.B.A., LL.B. ( Honours )

  • Duration : 5 Years

Basic Eligibility : A candidate who seeks admission to the course shall have passed plus two examination with the prescribed percentage of marks ( including languages ) at the time of admission. The candidate should have secured a minimum of sixty percent marks for the plus two examinations if he / she pursued science group or commerce group. The candidates who are from the arts / humanities stream shall have a minimum of fifty – five percentage of marks for the plus two examinations. Candidates belonging to SC or ST communities or belonging to OEC communities with a pass in the plus two examinations with 40 percent marks are entitled to seek admission. Candidates should not have crossed 20 years of age on 1st July of the year of admission ( 22 years in case of SC / ST and OBC ).
