1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work

BSW – Stands for Bachelor of Social Work. It is a 3 year course. The minimum eligibility is intermediate ( 10, +2 ) pass. BSW course work includes Introduction to Social Work, Social Work Intervention with Individuals and Groups , Introduction to Family Life Education , Social Work Intervention with Communities and Institutions , Introduction to HIV/AIDS , Substance Abuse and Counseling.

Basic Eligibility

  • A candidate who has passed HSC / PUC / ICSE in any discipline ( Arts, Science, Commerce ) of a recognized University Board of Higher Secondary Education is eligible to apply for admission to the Bachelor’s Degree ( BSW ) in Social work.

2. Master’s Degree in Social Work

MSW – Stands for Master of Social Work. Typically, a MSW is a 2 year course, minimum eligibility for which is a graduation in any discipline. Social Work is the organized effort towards helping communities, groups or individuals in need. Subjects studied under this degree are psychology, sociology, human behavior and growth, methodology and social work research.

Basic Eligibility

  • A candidate holding a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline ( Arts, Science, Commerce, Social Work ) of a recognized University is eligible to apply for admission to the Master’s Degree in Social Work ( MSW ). A candidate who has appeared for a Bachelor’s Degree Examination in all parts and is awaiting results may also apply. Selected candidates from universities other than Mumbai University will be granted admission to the courses only on production of provisional eligibility certificate from the Mumbai University before paying the fees.
