Staff Selection Commission ( SSC ) invites applications for the post of 2221 Sub Inspector, CAPFs & Assistant Sub Inspector ( Group C & D ) on regular basis through Sub Inspector in Delhi Police, CAPFs and Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF Examination 2018.

- Sub-Inspector ( Male ) in Delhi Police – 97 Posts
- Sub-Inspector ( Female ) in Delhi Police – 53 Posts
- Sub-Inspector ( GD ) in CAPFs ( Male ) – 1035 Posts
- Sub-Inspector ( GD ) in CAPFs ( Female ) – 38 Posts

SSC CAPF & CISF 2018 Eligibility
Candidates should possess Bachelors Degree from a recognised University or equivalent.
For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police only : Male candidates must possess and also carry a valid Driving License for LMV ( Motor cycle and Car ) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. However, the candidates who do not have a Valid Driving License for LMV ( Motor Cycle and Car ) can apply for all other CAPFs posts.
As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10th June, 2015 published in Gazette of India all the degree / diploma / certificates including technical education degree / diploma awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grant Commission Act 1956 and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grant Commission.
Candidates who have not acquired the educational qualification as on 1st August, 2018 will not be eligible and need not apply.
All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission will be required to produce all relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets for all the three years of Graduation / Provisional Certificate / Certificate of Graduation as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before 1st August, 2018 failing which the candidature of such candidate will be cancelled by the Commission. The candidates who are able to prove by documentary evidence that the result of the educational qualifying examination was declared on or before the cut-off date and he / she has been declared passed will also be considered to have the required educational qualification.
Other Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must be either :
A citizen of India, (or) A subject of Nepal, (or) A subject of Bhutan, (or) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ( Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugee shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the Examination provisionally but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
Age as on 1st August, 2018 the minimum age limit will be 20 years and the maximum age limit will be 25 years. Age Relaxation will be 5 years for SC & ST Category, 3 years for OBC – NCL Category & 10 years for PH Category Candidates.
SSC CAPF & CISF 2018 Exam Pattern
The examination will consist of two papers. Paper – I will be held from 4th June, 2018 to 10th June, 2018 and Paper – II will be held on 1st December, 2018. Detail of these papers will be as follows :

Question s in both papers will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type. Questions will be set in Hindi and English in Parts A, B and C of Paper I. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper – I & Paper – II. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions. The Commission may at the discretion fix qualifying marks in Paper – II.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply Online through SSC website from 3rd March, 2018. The Completed application form should be submitted on or before 2nd April, 2018 till 5:00 PM thereafter website link will be disabled.
Candidates have to pay 100/- through net-banking / credit cards or debit cards or cash through SBI bank challan. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying fee.

SSC CAPF & CISF 2018 Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Paper – I & Paper – II of the examination only. Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them.
Provided that SC, ST, OBC, candidates, who are selected on their own merit without relaxed standards, along with candidates belonging to other communities, will not be adjusted against the reserved share of vacancies. Such SC, ST, OBC, candidates will be accommodated against the general / unreserved vacancies as per their position in the overall Merit List. The reserved vacancies will be filled up separately from amongst the eligible SCs, STs, OBCs candidates which will thus comprise of SC, ST, OBC candidates who are lower in merit than the last general candidate on merit list of unreserved category but otherwise found suitable for appointment even by relaxed standard. Such candidates may also be recommended at the relaxed standards.
An Ex-Serviceman candidate who qualifies on the basis of relaxed standards viz. age limit, experience or qualifications, permitted number of chances in examination extended zone of consideration etc is to be counted against reserved vacancies and not against general vacancies subject to fitness of such candidate for selection. Candidates may also be recommended at the relaxed standards to the extent the number of vacancies reserved for them to make for the deficiency in the reserved quota, irrespective of their rank in the order of merit. In so far as cases of Ex.Serviceman are concerned, deduction of the military service rendered from the age of Ex-Serviceman is permissible against the reserved or unreserved posts and such exemption cannot be termed as relaxed standards in regard to age.
Success in the examination confers no right to appointment unless government is satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respects of Appointment to the service / post.
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If, on verification, at any time, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled by the Commission.
Candidates, who are appointed on the basis of this examination, shall be on probation for a period of two years and during the period of probation, the candidates would be required to undergo such training or pass such examinations as prescribed by the Controlling Authority. On successful completion of the period of probation, the candidates shall, if considered fit for permanent appointment, be confirmed to their post by the Controlling Authority.
Resolution of tie cases
In cases where more than one candidate secure the equal aggregates marks, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another :
- Total marks in Paper-I and Paper-II.
- Total marks in Paper-I.
- Total marks in Paper-II
- Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
- Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appeared.

Paper – I
General Intelligence & Reasoning
It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic / Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic / Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern-folding & un-folding, Figural Pattern- folding and completion, Indexing Address matching, Date & city matching Classification of centre codes / roll numbers, Small & Capital letters / numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Other subtopics if any.
Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc.
The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle , Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.
Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.
Paper – II
English Language & Comprehension
Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, filling in the blanks ( using verbs, preposition, articles etc ), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.
