NCSM Fellowship

National Council of Science Museums ( NCSM ), an autonomous scientific & research organization under the Ministry of Culture,  Govt. of India,  engaged in popularization of Science & Technology among the people at large,  intends to offer Post Graduate Fellowships ( 10 Nos. ) for a period of two years commencing from January.

The selected Fellows will undergo full time four Semester Master of Technology ( M.Tech)  Course in Science Communication being conducted by the Council in collaboration with the Birla Institute of Technology & Science ( BITS ), Pilani on an off-campus mode.  The lectures and tutorials would be held at National Council of Science Museums, Kolkata. Selected candidates will be provided with free hostel accommodation in Kolkata.

NCSM Fellowship Details

  • Rs. 8000/- per month for two years ( due for upward revision shortly )
  • Rs. 8000/- contingency grant per annum.

NCSM Fellowship Eligibility

1stt Class Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical / Production / Electrical / Electronics / Information Technology / Telecommunication / Computer Science or Engineering / Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering (or)

1st Class M.Sc. degree in Physics / Chemistry / Zoology / Botany / Biotechnology / Environmental Science.

Application Form is available on the Council’s website  from which may be downloaded and the duly filled in form ( there is no examination fee ) should be submitted by August ( through Speed Post only) to the following address :

NCSM Fellowship Selection Process

Mere possession of requisite qualifications shall not entitle the candidates to be called for the Test and Interview.  Decision of the Council in this regard shall be final.  Canvassing in any form and / or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as disqualification for the fellowship. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.

Applicants working in various Govt. / Semi Govt. organizations / Schools / Colleges should apply though proper channel. If any such candidate is sponsored by the Employee, NCSM may accept applications from candidates from other disciplines of science or engineering. However, the requirement of First Class in BE / B.Tech. / MSc will remain unchanged.

Students who will successfully complete the course will get the scope to apply for the post of Curators ( Class I post ) in various Science Museums / Centres.
