Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, is nestled on the banks of the majestic Swan River and overlooked by Kings Park. With a population of over 1.6 million people, Perth is a modern, vibrant and cosmopolitan city – making it an ideal place to study.
Perth Education City is Western Australia’s peak industry body for international education and is the first point of contact for anyone wishing to obtain information on studying and living in Perth.
The body originated in 1987 when interested institutions identified a need to meet and discuss issues of common interest in regards to international education. Over time, more institutions expressed an interest in the group and in 1996 a registered association with its own secretariat was launched.
Perth Education City is now strongly supported by the Government of Western Australia through the Department of State Development and the Department of Education Services. Its member institutions include the State’s five world class universities, plus numerous vocational education providers, primary and secondary schools, and English language colleges – both from the public and private sector.
Ninety – seven per cent of the more than 55,000 international student enrolments are hosted by one of Perth Education City’s member institutions.

Perth Education City Undergraduate Courses
A Bachelor Degree prepares you for a professional career and postgraduate study. It involves a minimum of three years ( six semesters ) of full – time study. To enter into a Bachelor Degree course, you’ll need an Australian secondary school certificate ( Year 12 ) or its overseas equivalent; or a Vocational Education and Training Diploma or Advanced Diploma.
Bachelor Degree ( Honours ) You may need to complete an optional, additional year of study after your Bachelor Degree or, if you’ve already completed a degree of four or more years, you may be awarded Honours for your academic achievement in that degree.
Perth Postgraduate Courses
1. Graduate Certificate or Diploma
It is designed for specific career purposes. You can take a Graduate course to expand the skills you gained in an undergraduate programme or to develop your skills and knowledge in a new professional area. A Graduate Certificate is usually six months of full – time study and the Graduate Diploma is 12 months of full – time study.
2. Masters Degree
When you’ve successfully completed an undergraduate degree, you can enrol in a Masters Degree in a specific study area or professional field. You can choose between a coursework masters, research masters or professional masters. A Masters Degree is usually two years in length, and one year if you’ve completed Honours.
3. Doctoral Degree ( PhD )
A Doctoral Degree ( PhD ), often also referred to as a PhD, is the highest university qualification you can receive. PhD candidates are recognised for their significant contributions in a chosen field. You can choose between a Research Doctorate, which involves supervised research, or Professional Doctorate, which combines coursework with research.
4. Master of Business Administration
A Master of Business Administration ( MBA ) is a highly – prestigious, internationally recognised qualification with a strong focus on practical and theoretical business knowledge. An MBA course takes one to two years to complete and covers accounting, economics, finance, human resources management, marketing, operations, organisational behavior, data analysis / statistics and business policy / strategy.
Perth Education City Scholarship
If you have excelled in your studies and have achieved outstanding academic results, you may be eligible for an Australian Government scholarship.
The scholarships are managed by the Australian Agency for International Development ( AusAID ) and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations ( DEEWR ), and include the following educational programs :

*Australian Government scholarships are not available to those undertaking English language studies.
