While planning your career may seem daunting, investing time and energy into thinking about where you want to be when you finish your studies will give you the best chance of success at achieving your desired position after graduation.
While a job is defined as a particular occupational position that is held at a given point in time, a career on the other hand can be considered as a sequence of jobs occupied over a period of time. These may or may not be related to each other.
Depending on our definition of work, our jobs and careers might include both paid and non-paid positions. Anyone who presently has a job or has had a number of jobs can be considered to have a career.
If there is one thing we can be certain of, a career is something which is prone to change particularly in the current economic climate. Therefore, it’s best to consider your career as something which is dynamic and ever growing and evolving, rather than static and unchangeable.
